"I decided a few years ago to move from realistic landscape painting to abstract painting. At the same time, I changed my medium from oil paint to acrylic paint. I found I like the experimental process of my art practice. My Waterlines series was inspired by the rising sea levels induced by climate change. I worked with layers of thin acrylic paint to recreate the feeling of water, coastlines and atmosphere. My Waterforce series includes the use of acrylic inks in a gestural application to express the energy of the sea, unharnessed. The sea, which I find both beautiful and terrifying, is a constant source of inspiration for me. I am looking for the essence of energy in my current paintings"
